“We Are The Moles”
A bit of a backstory:
In 2002, in preparation for the Residents’ 30th anniversary, some folks (Renaldo Malpractice, Paulie Kraynack, and Residents fans ‘The Moles’, known only to me as Keith, Paul, Michael, Jan, Vinnie, Krister, and Rock) decided they would record an album in tribute and as a gift to the Residents. Using the word “Mole” as the only guideline, music and other sound was exchanged. In 2003, they “released” the finished mini-album: A collection of mole-related songs called “Worm Pizza”. The orange CD-R’s were packaged in handmade pizza boxes numbered 1 to 20/20. They were then delivered to the Residents during their show at the Royal Festival Hall on March 10th, 2003, during the Demons Dance Alone tour.
It was then, by popular demand, re-issued in a regular CD case (numbered out of about 150 copies) on a silver CD-R.
This is a cover of “We Are The Moles”, originally by Simon Dupree & The Big Sound under the name The Moles. Vocals by Renaldo Malpractice and Rock, samples by Keith and Krister, and programming and guitars by Renaldo Malpractice.
